Lorazepam (Ativan)

The benzodiazepine lorazepam (Ativan) is used to treat seizure clusters and occasionally chronic epilepsy. Lorazepam can be given orally (by mouth), sublingually (under the tongue), intramuscularly (by injection into the muscle) and intravenously (bu injection into the bloodstream). Like diazepam, it can cause serious breathing impairment, especially when given intravenously at higher doses.
